Uruha was born in Kanagawa, Japan on June 9, 1981. Takashima Kouyou, or as he is more popularly known Uruha, is the guitarist for the Japanese rock band The GazettE. Signed to Sony Music Records, the band debuted in 2002 and has since released over a dozen albums, EPs, and compilations.
Like bandmates Ruki and Reita, he was a member of several other bands in the visual kei movement before the three formed The GazettE.
