Jonathan was born in Manchester, England on March 16, 1969. English soap star who first rose to fame playing Joe Carter in Coronation Street from 2002 to 2003. He would later take on the mantle of Pierce Harris in Emmerdale in 2016. He is also recognizable for his role in Family Affairs in 2000.

His interest in theatre began at the behest of his English teacher in boarding school. He would eventually study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
