Travis Kelce’s dad, Ed, had a bit of a brain fart when he first met Taylor Swift. He’s confessed that his mind went blank when the “Anti-Hero” singer popped by his son’s place. This was before a Kansas City Chiefs game, early in the romance between Travis and Taylor.
Travis’ house is the usual meet-up spot when his friends come to town for a game. Ed explained this on Audacy’s 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland on January 26. He added, “Travis isn’t usually there though.”
Ed spotted Taylor in the crowd that day. He turned to his girlfriend Maureen, puzzled. “I recognize this girl,” he said, “but I can’t remember her name.”
Ed continued, “I felt like a complete dunce, you know?”
Luckily, his girlfriend was there to save the day. “You don’t know her?” she asked, a bit incredulous. “That’s Taylor Swift, you goof!”
After hanging out with the Grammy-winning artist, Ed’s pretty sure her fame isn’t a fluke. “She’s just doing her thing,” he said. “She’s following her passion, doing what she loves. And people are just throwing money at her. Crazy, right?”
