The 2023 Women of Vision Awards: Celebrating Generations of Progress & Power ceremony took place on May 16 in NYC, hosted by the Ms. Foundation for Women. Meghan Markle, who was honored for her advocacy work, attended the event with her husband, Prince Harry, and mother, Doria Ragland. Markle donned a gold strapless cocktail dress, while her mother opted for a black, long-sleeved dress and Harry wore a simple suit and tie.

Markle was named a 2023 Women of Vision honoree in April for her global advocacy to empower and advocate on behalf of women and girls. According to Teresa C. Younger, the president and CEO of the Ms. Foundation, Markle and the other 2023 honorees “are incredible leaders and we are grateful to be able to shine a light on their many accomplishments and tireless work on behalf of gender and racial equity across the country and the world.” During the ceremony, Gloria Steinem presented Markle with the award.

Recently, Prince Harry traveled back to the UK to celebrate his father King Charles III’s coronation, while Markle stayed in the US with their two children. The decision for Harry to attend the coronation alone comes as he and Markle remain at odds with the rest of the royal family, especially following the release of his memoir “Spare,” in which he has been candid about the rift with his family and brother Prince William in particular.

Despite this, Markle’s advocacy work continues to be recognized and celebrated. As a Women of Vision honoree, Markle joins a prestigious group of women who have made significant contributions to gender and racial equity. Her dedication to empowering and advocating for women and girls globally is a testament to her commitment to using her platform for positive change.
