Date night, anyone? Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes sure know how to do it right. They were spotted arm in arm at the CMT Music Awards in Austin, Texas, on April 7.
Kelsea, the “Hole in the Bottle” singer, was a sight to behold. She arrived at the event in a stunning red lace dress. She’s not just there to look pretty, though. She’s also the host for the night.
Chase, the star of Outer Banks, was no less impressive. He sported a cream jacket over a white top, paired with black trousers. Sharp, right? You can check out all the stars on the red carpet here.
But the night’s not over yet. Kelsea will take the stage later to perform. She’ll be joining a star-studded lineup of country stars. Trisha Yearwood, Little Big Town, Old Dominion, Jelly Roll, Keith Urban, Lainey Wilson, and Sam Hunt will also be there.
This night out comes a few months after Kelsea and Chase celebrated their first anniversary. “A whole trip around the sun with my bestie,” Kelsea wrote on Instagram on January 7. “@hichasestokes thanks for making me write love songs.” Sweet, isn’t it?
But it hasn’t all been sunshine and roses for Kelsea. She filed for divorce from ex Morgan Evans in 2022. A tough time, no doubt.
Yet, she found a way to cope. She credits her six-track EP, Rolling Up the Welcome Mat, with helping her process the breakup. “It’s the way I got my feelings out of my body and heart and put them to music,” she said in a statement on the day of the EP’s release last February. “Which is the purest way I could’ve handled it.”
