Lopez made a promise. Her latest project, she said, would reflect the highs and lows of her much-discussed personal life.
“Life can be heart-breaking,” she admitted to E!. Yet, it can also be exhilarating. And sometimes, downright hilarious when you look back.
She added, “You can’t take yourself too seriously, ya know?” The lessons learned, they’re meant to be shared. And this project? It’s all about sharing what she’s picked up along the way.
Recently, Lopez took a trip down memory lane. She thought back to her first relationship with Affleck in the early 2000s. She revealed they still “both have PTSD” from all the attention.
“But we’re older now,” she told Variety in a piece published on Dec. 20. “We’re wiser.” And they know what really matters in life. It’s not about what others think, but about being true to oneself.
And if you’re curious about her and Ben reuniting onscreen outside of her new film? Well, J.Lo—who shared the screen with Affleck in 2003’s Gigli—is open to the idea.
“We love being together and working together,” she confessed. “So, yeah, you never know.”
