She’s the proud mother of their two daughters, Esmeralda and Amada. And she’s also a staunch defender of Ryan’s acting chops.
Recently, Ryan’s portrayal of Ken in a Barbie movie got him an Oscar nod. But not everyone was thrilled about it.
An opinion piece from Rolling Stone in 2022 wasn’t too kind. It described Ryan’s acting as “cringe.” Eva wasn’t having any of that.
On January 24, she took to Instagram. She shared a screenshot of the Rolling Stone piece. And she had a message for the haters.
“So much hate when he took on this role,” she wrote. “So many people trying to shame him for doing it.”
But Ryan didn’t let the criticism get to him. He created a unique, hilarious, and heart-wrenching character. And he took it all the way to the Oscars.
Eva was over the moon. “So beyond proud to be this Ken’s Barbie,” she gushed.
And she’s not the only one who’s proud. Ryan’s co-star, America Ferrera, is also on team Ryan. She scored her first-ever Oscar nomination for her role in the same blockbuster.
