The stars of Hollywood have no shortage of funds to partake in a bit of recreational gambling. Plus, who doesn’t love a bit of innocent risk-taking? Especially if you are someone who has the means to play without breaking your bank. Many of the stars of today have attributed their love for the game to the research work they had to do to prepare for movies that involved gambling. Actors and stars of this caliber only learn from the best so imagine how thrilling the game must seem if you’re learning at the ultra high-rolling tables under the guidance of real-life punting greats. No wonder they bit the hook and won’t let go.

George Clooney

Almost everyone knows the famous Ocean movies, that starred George Clooney in the leading role of Danny Ocean. Each of the movies, Oceans 11, 12 and 13 had to do with a casino and a heist, that was the premise. In the movie, the character Danny had a bit of a hand for gambling, which George Clooney naturally had to understand to properly bring this character to life. He spent countless hours in casinos, learning the different games and seeing the vast bonus offering that many games presented to the winner, creating a deep admiration for the game. Understanding how poker, roulette and blackjack work is much more of a mind game than people would think, making for a captivating and thrilling experience to partake in. Another fun fact is that he tried to construct his very own casino in Las Vegas but the building was never built, reasons unknown.

Ray Romano

Some celebrities are even so good that they have sat and competed in the World Series of Poker on a few occasions. The actor, Ray Romano, who is known for his leading role in the hit TV series ‘Everybody loves Raymond’ is an exceptional poker player. Although he never played a role that had anything to do with gambling, his interest in the game came from him. Not one to spend time on slot machines or partake in Russian Roulette, Romano plays poker strictly and has even managed to win a few hands during the World Series of Poker.

Michael Jordan

A sports athlete who is known for his intensity both on and off the court. Michel Jordan, arguably one of the greatest, if not the greatest, basketball players of all time is known for his love of gambling on almost anything. In the mid-90s during his time with the Chicago Bulls, he received a lot of public hate for leaving casinos late even though he was meant to be playing an early game the next day. This bad publicity never stopped him. He not only loves to place a bet at a casino, he loves to place it anywhere. Even when he is off to play a round of golf, one of his other favorite games, his said to have bet $300,000 on one single putt alone. One thing is for sure, if you want to play a friendly game of golf with the great Jordan, make sure to pack your wallet. He’s worth an insane 3 billion dollars though so just bear in mind that you might not be able to keep up.

Brad Pitt

A Hollywood A-lister known for his love of the game. Similar to George Clooney, Brad Pitt found his love for gambling while shooting the Oceans films. His favorite games are said to be poker and blackjack and surprisingly enough, he also enjoys a round on the slot machines. With an apparent net worth of over 400 million dollars, this actor does not need to worry too much about placing bets and he essentially has an endless stream of finances. His ability to keep calm in stressful situations and his acting skills of being able to not show his emotions is one of the main reasons he is such a successful gambler in his private life.

The Thrill of the Game

These celebrities, stars, actors and sports legends all have one thing in common, they like to live life large and they have the funds to boot. With their endless stream of fortune, access to only the best teachers and casinos, it’s no wonder that they love a bit of risk-taking and a bit of a gamble. With so many different games to choose from and their jet-setting lifestyle, a game in Monaco one day and a game in Las Vegas the next, is simply part of their daily lives.
