Michelle Young’s surprising love came to an end in the emotional season finale of The Bachelorette when she accepted a proposal from Nayte Olukoya. The proposal was accompanied by a stunning diamond and platinum engagement ring from Neil Lane, the official jewelry designer of The Bachelor franchise. Michelle’s ring features a pear-shaped diamond in the centre surrounded by two tapering baguette diamonds. It is also set with 46 round brilliant cut diamonds totaling more than 3 carats.

While proposing in an exquisitely romantic way, Nayte told Michelle, “The very first night I met you, I knew right then and there that we had a connection that I wanted to hold onto. The second night that we were together, we talked about running away together. And I’m standing in front of you right now, and the feelings are the same. I want to run away with you. I want to run away forever with the woman that I’ve come to love.”

The gorgeous proposal

‘Michelle, I love you. I love you. I don’t ever want to let go. I am absolutely crazy for you. Michelle Anne Young, will you marry me?” Nayte asked her. ‘Yes, of course,’ replied Michelle.

Michelle then offered her final rose and Nayte gladly accepted. The newly engaged couple was then entertained with a mariachi band playing the traditional Mexican song Cielito Lindo.

Neil Lane coming to the rescue

While the romantic moment was unquestionably the stuff of fairy tales, all eyes were on the gorgeous ring that Nayte proposed to Michelle with, designed by the Bollywood-favorite Neil lane.

Talking about his experience designing the ring, Lane said: “Working with Nayte to select this ring for Michelle was a special experience. He knew he wanted something one of a kind just like the connection the two share. The ring is a beautiful illustration of their strong and powerful love. I am so happy for the couple and wish them a lifetime of happiness.”

For Hollywood brides-to-be, Neil Lane is the go-to jeweler. He has created engagement rings for celebrities like Reese Witherspoon, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Hudson, Jessica Simpson, Emily Blunt, and Miley Cyrus, among others, and his Neil Lane Bridal® collection at Kay® Jewelers reflects his distinct aesthetic.

Michelle’s tough time finding true love

Michelle’s search for love has taken a long time. The fifth-grade teacher originally joined Bachelor Nation when she participated in Matt James’ season of The Bachelor, but she was ultimately rejected in favor of Rachael Kirkconnell by the former collegiate football star.

She made the hardest decision of her life in this week’s finale. According to a statement from Brandon Jones in a teaser, Nayte had supposedly said that there is nobody else in this world that she would rather devote her heart to, apart from Nayte.

Nayte, on the other hand, informed Michelle that he was madly in love with her and that it was “terrifying.”

Michelle told E! News’ Daily Pop that she had her guard up ahead of her season of The Bachelorette because she knew there will surely be one or two people that are not there for the right reasons. She further remarked that she could see lies spread all across the classroom, each of which helped her in one way or another to gain some clarity and perspective. “I am very happy just how this entire experience went. I have learned so much about myself, about what I’m looking for.”

Brandon could win over her family but not Michelle’s heart

Michelle gushed about Brandon who was upfront about her feelings for her from the beginning. She confessed that she felt that life with Brandon will be a joyful, satisfying one, knowing fully well that there was and will be a great deal of love between them

While the proposal was taking place, it is said that Michelle broke Nayte when she told him that her heart was telling her to take a different route. Given her history with Brandon, she sobbingly admitted that he will always have a portion of her heart.

“I truly wish you nothing but happiness. I truly mean that. Even if it’s not with me. You’ve been worth it every second. Giving my heart was worth it. It’s something that I’ll never regret. I will always be here for you.” In response, Michelle said that she was deeply sorry, confessing that she could not do anything about it. Before hugging and sobbing on the sand, they both claimed they loved each other.

Talking about the breakup, Brandom opined that he believed with all his heart that Michelle had made a mistake and that he should fight with her. But he admitted that it was not a mistake on her part. “I think she followed her heart, and that’s where her heart led, and at the end of the day, like, what can I do about it?”

Kaitlyn had told viewers earlier in the show that one of the most traumatic breakups in Bachelorette history was coming, and she was right because Brandon took it hard.

Conclusion

Michelle Young and Nayte Olukoya are two strong characters who know what they are doing and go about their work in the most profound of ways—what is more (and beautiful) is that they are deeply in love with each other. Understandably, though Michelle may still have feelings for Brandon, nothing can be taken away from the fact that she wants to give her heart to Kayte, who, in turn, feels over the moon knowing that she is with the woman of her dreams. We can only hope that the two find true joy in each other’s company and go above and beyond the visible.
